Associated Press gets it wrong again

Julie Pace, reporter for the Associated Press (AP), got it wrong, and the AP got it wrong again. Don't they have editors there?

In an article designed to soften Obama's admission that he hasn't got the muscle he thinks to squash the Second Amendment, Pace wrote that “...a meaningful ban on assault weapons...” is on the table for Obama. No, Julie, not “assault weapons”. Assault weapons have been banned for general civilian ownership for years.

What century is Nevada's Harry Reid living in? Supposedly he said last Friday that he thought an assault weapons ban might be able to pass the Senate, but not the House. Harry, wake up! Assault weapons are already banned. And you are one of this nation's senators? Retire, man!

Obama appears to be continuing to rattle his sword about executive orders on gun or gun accessory ownership by law-abiding citizens.

Stop it, Obama. Just stop it!
