Friday panel on mental health system change

Mental health professionals, family members and consumers may be interested in Friday's presentation by a panel of expert speakers on the need for mental healthcare system change.

Four speakers will address the principles of Recovery, children and adolescent mental health issues, mental health parity, and how behavioral healthcare is being addressed in national healthcare reform. Panel members will take questions from the audience following their presentations.

The speakers will be Fred Friedman, Esq., Terry Carmichael, MSW, M Div, Anthony M. Zipple, Sc.D., MBA, and Marsha D. Koelliker, J.D.; the panel moderator will be Cherryl Ramirez, MPH, MPA. The panel will meet in the conference room of Family Service, 4100 Veterans Parkway, McHenry, beginning at 8:00AM on Friday, October 9, and concluding at 11:00AM. Registration begins at 7:30AM.

The target audience for this panel is clinicians, case managers, mental health professionals, physicians, nurses, social workers, psychiatrists, school counselors, teachers, persons in recovery and family members. The panel is sponsored by Empowering Minds, community partners for mental health awareness.
