Shakedown at Woodstock bookstore

OK, so that's supposed to be SHAKEDOWN. And it's an author's signing event.

Author Andie Ryan will be at Read Between the Lynes on Thursday, October 8, at 7:00PM. Buy your own signed copy and start shopping early for Christmas! Come on; how often can you give a book as a gift, inscribed by the author to the favorite people on your gift list???

Come and meet Andie Ryan, Chicagoland Indie Bestselling author of her debut novel, "Shakedown," as she discusses and signs her novel!

"Shakedown" couldn't be more topical given current headlines of financial industry scandal and corruption. At the heart of a massive insider trading operation, public relations executive Tom Hollister discovers a murder conspiracy. Estranged from his family, he falls for an aging call girl, unaware of her connection to the company's crimes. Against the backdrop of a corporate meltdown, Hollister races to expose the scheme and bring the killers to justice, even though the truth could cost him his life and everything he has come to love.

Andie Ryan is a Wall Street insider with more than twenty years of risk oversight experience at major financial services firms in San Francisco and New York, most recently as Managing Director, primarily in compliance and internal audit functions. She presently resides in New York City where she works as an independent consultant, focusing on brokerage industry regulatory initiatives.

Andie Ryan holds an undergraduate degree in English and an MBA from U.C. Berkelely. A veteran of the Gotham Writers Workshop in New York City, she has attended 300+ hours of advance/master-level workshops for fiction. Discussion topics will include how to get the most out of your workshops or critique groups, managing your own book promotion, working with an editor, and how not to get discouraged by (what can seem like endless) manuscript revision.
