I'm a Republican strongly toward the Independent side. I do not want a political hack as my Sheriff. Mahon sounds highly qualified. If he has lived in McHenry county, has a family here and sends his kids to school here, I would consider him for the job. I would think that his experience working in the Sheriff's department in Cook county would give him the background needed to combat the growing problem of gangs, especially in the Carpentersville area.
