When a person posts a comment and then removes it, should I re-post it?
I have in mind a comment posted to the article about Soccer Mom and her Wedding Ring yesterday at 8:57PM. This comment showed a definite bias against one class of individuals in this country.
Certainly, there are people in town who know the person who is posting under the nomme de guerre he has chosen. Was he embarrassed about his posting? Did he have second thoughts about how it reflected on him? Could it have repercussions on his employment?
The particular individual hasn't been too kind to me with a wide variety of his previous comments. Would it be retaliation for me to re-publish his comment, including the name under which he submitted it?
Thoughts?

I would not re-post removed comments. On occasion we all will post something without thinking first and decide to 'take back' what was said. I think we should have that right. Just my $.02
You reviewed the comment and posted it. The writer removed it. Re-posting it could open you up for legal action. Try it and see.
Not sure which Wheaties box you're getting your legal advice out of. I have the hard copy of the email submitted with the Comment that I might just re-post. Or maybe I'll just save it until his identify has been confirmed.
Take the high road here, Gus. Be the better man.
Thanks for the encouragement. I can always hold it in reserve, in case the sniping resumes at the same pace as a while back. Hmmm, is that taking the high road? I guess the "high road" would be committing to not re-posting it and then destroying it.
I'm making it up as I go. I've been reading a lot of that kind of junk lately.
C'mon, go for it. Maybe their lawyer is smarter than yours.
Someone asked me last week why I post comments like the last one. Since the Northwest Herald reduced its comics offerings, I figure that people still are looking for a good laugh.
The written word is like the spoken word. Once uttered, it's out in the public view. Too late to say, "Oops." Taking a deep breath and closing your mouth doesn't retract what you said.
Plus you get to always have the last word! Bonus!
