What do McHenry County and Lee County have in common?

It turns out that I am not the only person in the country concerned about the need for honor, integrity and truth at the top of the law-enforcement food chain in a county.

In a Letter to the Editor of The News-Press (Fort Myers, Fla.) Fort Myers local resident Lou Araujo took incumbent Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott to task for releasing confidential personnel records about his former deputy and now political challenger, Tim Fisher.

Araujo suggests that Sheriff Scott doesn't know the meaning of "integrity, honor and respect."

You can read his letter here: http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2012307050035  It's on Page 3 of the Letters to the Editor in the online edition of The News-Press for July 6, 2012.

Lee County, Fla. is where McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren maintains a $620,000 home - just one of his homes. Another, worth $450,000 recently, is in Minocqua, Wisc. And he must have a residence somewhere in McHenry County, although he seems not to spend much time at it.

Over a million dollars in houses.... on a sheriff's salary? Doesn't that throw up a flag to some authoritative agency? I mean someone other than YOU! DOH!
