WPD tickets up 81% in Nov.

Not too shabby. Woodstock's Finest got busy in November and started making up time.

In the monthly report by the Police Department to the City Council (to be presented tomorrow night, Jan. 19), the category of "Other Traffic Arrests" showed a 200-ticket jump over the previous three months.

Check this out:
August 241
September 252
October 247
November 448 (up 81% over the 3-month average)

"Other Traffic Arrests" do not include tickets for Accidents, DUI, Driving while suspended or Insurance violations.

The number of "Other Traffic Arrests" this year (through November) is 3,697.

And parking tickets? Through November 30 2,836 parking tickets have been written, and fines collected totaled $41,755.

In the cover letter to the City Council with the November report, Chief Lowen explained that WPD had assisted in crowd control at a number of H1N1 flu vaccination sites operated by the McHenry County Health Department.
