Starbuck's and concealed carry

Starbuck's is resisting efforts by the Brady Bunch to force them to refuse customers who want to legally carry guns in their stores. The Brady crew attempted to persuade Starbuck's to bar such customers, and the NRA reports today that Starbuck's will not knuckle under.

Now, if we could only get Illinois to allow us law-abiding citizens to carry guns for our protection (and yours).

Next time you are in Starbuck's, tell the manager that you support concealed carry and that you will feel safer knowing that crime goes down when law-abiding folks have the right to carry.

It's true, you know.

And, while you are at it, call Rep. Jack Franks and tell him that your vote for him on November 2 is in doubt, if he doesn't soon acknowledge what 48 States have already realized. Call his Woodstock office at 815-334-0063. Make sure that your opinion is noted and ask that Jack receive it exactly as offered. And ask what Jack's position on concealed carry is and what it will take for him to change his mind. Get details!

I need protection from the barista now? Maybe Starbucks is afraid someone will go postal over the high cost of their product. What a world!

Debra, Starbuck's is merely refusing to buckle under to the Brady crowd, which would like to disarm law-abiding citizens.

Many, many states allow law-abiding citizens with permits to carry concealed weapons. Some states allow "open" carry; even Wisconsin is reputed to allow open carry, although it denies the right to carry concealed.

The Brady Bunch was trying to pressure Starbuck's into its position, but Starbuck's refused.
