Here's the poop (errrr, "scoop")

On Thursday, February 11, the Daily Herald reported that Carrie Fosdale's small claims lawsuit against the Old Oak Terrace Homeowners Association and two of its officers was settled in McHenry County Circuit Court. According to court records at http://www.mchenrycircuitclerk.org/, Fosdale's case was dismissed by Judge Bolger on February 9 with prejudice, which means it cannot be re-filed.

Carrie had filed her case pro se; i.e., without an attorney. She had claimed $4,328 in expenses for defending herself against a theft charge for removing a dog poop station from near her front door.

The newspaper article reported that "... a court order filed restricts either side from discussing the terms or even admitting publicly that they struck a deal." This smells like a gag order to me.

Thanks to Daily Herald reporter Charles Keeshan for his article and for informing the public of what looks to me like a win for Carrie Fosdale. Bravo, Carrie!
