Support SBS-Woodstock - Nov. 24

SBS-Woodstock ... what is it?

SBS = Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday-Woodstock is a promotion to support local and small business on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (the day after "Black Friday") which, this year, is November 24.

Families are estimated to spend approximately $700 on the Christmas holiday gift-giving. Why not spend at least $50 of it with a local, hometown, Woodstock small business?

Flowers are great gifts - call Apple Creek Flowers
A new bedroom suite would be nice - visit Woodstock Furniture
How about a newspaper gift to an out-of-town friend - call The Woodstock Independent
How about a gift certificate for a custom, highly-personalized, family photo album - call Gus Philpott for information about SendOutCards

What if you spend just 10% of your gifting money right here in Woodstock? Why go to a big box store in Crystal Lake, Algonquin or McHenry? Let them draw from their own communities.

Spearheading this effort in Woodstock in John Trione, General Manager of The Woodstock Independent. An organizational meeting was held this morning at Stage Left Cafe.

Watch for logos indicating participation at Woodstock businesses. Tell the merchant why you showed up on November 24. When you shop locally, you help keep our town "alive" and people employed.
