A fire there on June 10 caused the sandwich shop to close, right at the beginning of what might have been a peak season for them - the summer traffic on the Square.
The front has been boarded up for 3 1/2 months now, with no visible signs of a re-opening date. Their Facebook page contains no information about a re-opening date.
What has the City done to help the property owner and the owner of the restaurant? Anything?
What has the Chamber of Commerce done to help them get back in business? And preserve the beauty and integrity of the Square.
What has the Woodstock Downtown Business Assn. done? (Oh, wait; that went out of business.)
What has Main Street Woodstock done to get that business back open and those sheets of board-up down? (Oh, wait; there is no "Main Street Woodstock" organization.)
The City is lucky that a major fire did not occur on June 10 that could have destroyed a big part of the Square. There have been major fires. Fortunately, there wasn't this time.
Have there been any unusual delays in the renovations? Any foot-dragging? Was an insurance claim promptly approved? How long did it take to line up contractors? What did they promise for a completion date?

In response to my Facebook message to Jenapea's, inquiring whether they would be re-opening, they responded, "Yes."
