Fireworks Thursday in Courtroom 304?

Courtroom 304 at the McHenry County Courthouse will probably be packed tomorrow (Thursday) morning, with attorneys and media waiting to hear Judge Prather's decision on a Motion in the prosecution of the man from Crystal Lake, whose "Fiance", as a Confidential Informant, allegedly became sexually involved with a McHenry County narcotics detective.

Judge Prather is expected to rule on whether that deputy's personnel file can become part of the case.

The deputy got a ten-day unpaid suspension and re-assigned to Patrol.

There are rumors flying that a different deputy, also with the McHenry County Sheriff's Department, became sexually involved with a confidential informant, and he was suspended for only three days.

Kind of makes you wonder about supervisory controls at the sheriff's department, doesn't it?

And wonder about disciplinary decisions. It sure seems to me that a detective's promoting and having sex with a C.I. in the same case ought to be grounds for immediate dismissal. Why didn't Nygren and Zinke kick this current-case guy out?

I wonder if Bill Clinton's line will work. "I did not have sex with that woman."
