I waited and waited and waited, through three light changes on Route 120. Wondering if I'd have to wait there all day for a green light, I decided to turn right and then right again to go west on 120 until I could turn around and return to Raffel Road.
I recalled some talk about a motorcyclist's being able to turn on a red light but, believe me, I did not intend to get into a discussion with a Woodstock Police officer or a deputy about whether my turn was legal.
What had gotten my attention? This political sign on the corner of Route 120 (McHenry Avenue) and Raffel Road.
Who in the world is going to be stupid enough to think that replacing the appointed County Administrator with an elected County Executive is going to lower his taxes? How are the two even possibly related?
Who is responsible for this sign? In teeny, tiny lettering at the bottom of the sign is "Paid for by McHenry County Republicans for Lower Taxes". Who dat? No website. No phone number. No names.
