On September 25 the Woodstock Police Department participated in a prescription drug take-back day. Residents were encouraged to drop off unwanted, unused, expired prescription drugs at the P.D., and officers were stationed out front to accept them.
According to Chief Bob Lowen, the Woodstock Police Department received 160 pounds of prescription medications during the Prescription Medication Take Back event.
Thanks to the P.D. and to Woodstock residents for participating.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) coordinated National Take Back Day. There were approximately 4,094 collection sites and 2,992 state and local law enforcement agencies that participated in the first-ever nationwide program to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation's medicine cabinets.
