$75 Bounty in the works?

Rumor has it that a new $75.00 fee will be assessed to those who are picked up on warrants in McHenry County.

Is this a Bounty?

Details are not clear to me yet, and I don't know if this is a reward only to a deputy who finds the person wanted under a warrant or if it is a County-wide bounty, payable to any law enforcement officer who stumbles across the person named in a warrant.

How might a deputy find that person? By running the license plate of every car that passes him. Or by an optical digital recognition system urged in Canada, if it is brought to McHenry County. Or during a traffic stop. Or by stopping and detaining a person walking along a road or highway, even if legally doing so and not breaking any law.

Hello? Can you spell r-a-c-i-a-l p-r-o-f-i-l-i-n-g? Will this worry a large segment of our County's Hispanic population?

This fee/surcharge/cost (Bounty) may be planned to go into effect on January 1. Efforts are underway to learn whether it is specific to the McHenry County Sheriff's Department or if it is a fee to be imposed by the Circuit Clerk for McHenry County, and then doled out across the County.

I'm honestly confused by your "racial profiling" comment. Are you suggesting that Hispanics are more likely to have warrants out on them?

No, that Hispanics in McHenry County could be more likely to be stopped for checking for warrants.

Gus, shouldn't you be out campaigning, scaring kids or doing surveillance on the gas pumps at the Sheriff's Dept? I don't see how this could be in anyway seen as "racial".

Also are you sure it is not the WARRANT AND ARREST fee that ever county charges?

"Rumor has it" ?? There you go again. Running off at the mouth before you have clue as to what is going on. Don't give us that crap about "you know, you were told, etc." Simple fact is you don't know squat. You're just spewing this crap and hoping to create controversy and build animosity towards the police, the courts, and anyone else who fails to share your twisted, gnarled view of life. Better pay attention to those suicide prevention programs you old goat; the life you save...

Better yet, why not go take in a movie!

Toa, and when Jan. 1 comes and a $75 bounty is implemented, will you reveal your identity? Or will you retire before then?

Just, why should a deputy get paid more for doing his job?

And why should the County collect a fee for doing its duty?

There is no bounty and you know it. If anything like that was even considered don't you think the news media would have picked it up already?

Almost every county has a processing fee. It is legal and is based upon the cost of the process. Right now I beleive McHenry is $28.00. All fees muct be based upon approved cost studies. Civil Process fees are included.

Where do you dream this stuff up?
Maybe the doc should up you med's some.

Read what you posted regarding the "Bounty?" and then read your comments here. You ask questions that assume facts not in evidence. You're an idiot!

And do not now nor have I ever worked for Nygren and no, I will not retire by or on January 1.

What about this bounty, Gus? Anything factual to report or just your usual spew of rumor, innuendo and "black helicopter" garbage?
