The Northwest Herald is reporting this morning that McHenry's City Administrator, Doug Maxeiner, has left city government.
Mayor Sue Low said that he "will be resigning", but his last day of work was yesterday.
Mayor Low told the paper that she "could not" discuss his reason for leaving. Obviously, she "could" discuss it but would not. Why aren't people clear in their language?
Maxeiner earned over $10,000/month as City Administrator, plus full premiums on insurance and a $400/month car allowance.
It's very unusual for any executive, city or private, to leave without notice. Not many people quit and then turn in a letter of resignation. Or maybe that's how it's done in upper management these days. So what's up?
