Of course, tonight is the scheduled fireworks display at Emricson Park.
But what about the unscheduled, neighborhood fireworks displays, especially the "show" just north of Emricson Park and the cemetery that happens every year? It's at a house on Hill Street or nearby. Will it happen this year, too?
I'm not talking about a few noisemakers. The folks who put on that "show" have had some serious aerials. I've wondered for several years why the police have not been able to zero in on them. Will they do so this year?
One thing that would slow down illegal fireworks displays in Woodstock would be some solid publicity about the cost of violating the fireworks' law. Why not publicize the cost of violations before and after the 4th of July?

What makes you think that this cat and mouse game between people who purchase "illegal" and the police who work on the Fourth, is real.
For some reason you believe that we should "teach" these illegals, some sort of "lesson" (why do I have to use so many quotation marks when I respond to your blog?
Oh! I know why. Because you are all about very "important" issues like garage sale signs, fireworks on the 4th, whether people have permits for fundraisers or whether people have properly paid for permits from the authorities.
You fit in very well, in a police state.
