Sheriff Joe's got the right idea

Somebody just asked me yesterday what I thought of Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County. I said I was going to Phoenix for a photo opp!

What's Joe doing? This is old information, but it was nice to be reminded of it again today.

**He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.
**He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails.
**Took away their weights.
**Cut off all but 'G' movies.
**He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and city projects.
**Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for discrimination.
**He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails, so he hooked up the cable TV again.....BUT only let in the Disney channel and the Weather channel. When asked why the weather channel, he replied, "So they will know how hot it's gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs."
**He cut off coffee since it has zero nutritional value. When the inmates complained, he told them, "This isn't The Ritz/Carlton...... If you don't like it, don't come back."

And what happens in McHenry County Jail. $14,000 gets spent for three laptops that would be in the envy of our soldiers in Afghanistan - top of the line, rugged. Probably like that Samsonite luggage you can drop off a 500' cliff. And $700 spent on TVs. That's not for several, either.

So, maybe between Nov. 3 and Dec. 1 I'll just have to go out and meet Sheriff Joe.

Here's what an out-of-town friend has to say about Sheriff Joe:

"I was just reading the article on Sheriff Joe in The Advocate. I think if you meet him like me you would be impressed. He's a "what you see is what you get" kind of guy. Not a lot of fluff there. What he says is what he will repeat at different occasions. I saw him two weeks in a row and the message was the same. Same language, same idea. I think you fall right in line with the common sense ideology that makes him so popular. Now all you got to do is remind the county to use common sense when voting in November."

Oh Gussy- Everything you do I view to be the exact opposite of Sheriff Joe. You're not a straight shooter, you are all about suspect rights, and you run a goofy blog such as this!

Do you think Sheriff Joe has a Maricopa County Advocate blog? If he does I promise that his views are nothing like yours.

I'm not a hateful person, and fairly moderate, politically-speaking. But I lived in Phoenix for almost 8 years and can attest to the fact that Sheriff Joe is a racist, xenophobic, irrational and self-serving scumbag.

The ends don't always justify the means.
