A friend in Arizona, where they are really serious about this illegal immigration stuff (unlike the sanctuary city of Chicago), sent me this image.
If you have been to southern Arizona, you know where I-8 is.
From Chicago, L.A. is only 2,023 miles. South on I-55 to westbound I-88 is a good start.

Right you are, Philip. I missed the step in Google Maps, which read I-55 to I-355 to I-88. Anyway, I'd leave from Woodstock, not Chicago.
