Legislative spring break - Mar. 29

An announcement from one organization has alerted me to what it called the "legislative spring break", which begins March 29.

Will they "get out of Dodge" or will they hunker down in their local offices behind closed doors? Or will they (not just staffers) be open and receptive to personal visits and telephone calls from you, their constituents?

Call your elected State representatives now to set appointments to express your opinions about State matters. Pick the important ones. Or your favorites. The budget crisis? Pension fund deficits? Unbalanced budget? Cuts in mental health services? State trooper cuts? Right to carry?

Fall elections will only be seven months later. Not so far that you will forget the reception that you receive.

Tell your legislator how you want him or her to vote on a particular bill or topic.
Then ask your legislator what his (her) intention is regarding any related Bill.
Most importantly, follow up and find out how your legislator actually voted.
Then call your legislators back to either thank them for their support and vote, or to find out why they voted in opposition to your viewpoint.

Find out where they stand, so that you'll know for whom to vote on November 2.
