Postage rates going up in April

Did you hear the news yet?

On HarvardRadio.net this evening I heard a message that postage rates will increase in April. Oh, joy!

First-class rates for the first ounce will not change. The price of a first-class stamp for one ounce will remain at 44¢.

The cost of the second and additional ounces will change from 17¢ to 20¢.

And the price of a stamp for a postcard will go up to 29¢.

Recently, I wrote that all first-class stamps sold this month (after what date? Ask at the Post Office) become "Forever" stamps. It looks like those 44¢ that I bought just before that announcement will be good a little longer.
