Was Sheriff sick of Pyle?

The question about whether Greg Pyle was still employed at the McHenry County Sheriff's Department has finally been answered.

Remember back when the Feds arrested Pyle, "coincidentally" on the day his benefits ran out at the Sheriff's Department? Didn't Nygren say then that he was going to let Pyle resign? And another word never appeared in the "regular" media about it.

If a deputy gets fired, Nygren is supposed to take it to the Merit Commission.

If a deputy resigns, the Merit Commission is to be told about it.

Minutes of the Merit Commission reflect no departure of Pyle from the Sheriff's Department.

According to a FOIA response from the Sheriff's Department, received today, Pyle was "Terminated: 08/14/12". You'd sort of think that Nygren might have found time in the last six months to inform his commission, wouldn't you? Of course, he'd have to be at work, earning his $12,500/month, to do that.

When Pyle was placed on Paid Administrative Leave on January 9, 2012, after being arrested and jailed on ten felony counts, Pyle had accrued:
160 vacation hours (doesn't compute to ten years without a vacation)
3 personal days (24 hours)
771.5 hours of (carry-over) unused sick time, plus 120 hours of sick credited on 1/1/12, for a grand total of 891.5 hours' sick time.
99.5 hours of compensatory time

Pyle was placed on FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) time on March 6, 2012, "when sick time was used to pay him until it ran out on 08/13/12."

So, was Nygren sick of Pyle for getting arrested and charged with ten felony counts? Is that what qualified Pyle for FMLA?

Or was Pyle sick of MCSD?

How does a person believed to be healthy qualify for FMLA? Was the Leave granted due to Pyle's personal health or that of a family member requiring his care? Click for the U.S. Department of Labor conditions for unpaid Leave.

Was the approval of any request from Pyle for FMLA legitimate? Isn't FMLA for unpaid leave that an employee can request?

Why was sick pay paid to Pyle? Isn't sick pay only paid to an employee who is actually sick? He wasn't terminated by MCSD until August 14, 2012. Isn't a sick-pay pay-out only made upon an employee's termination?

Sick pay ought to be to protect an employee from loss of income, if he is honestly sick and cannot work. Why should it even be paid out upon termination, if the employee was lucky enough not to get sick?

ABZ for Sheriff (Anyone But Zinke) said...

I wonder if deputies like Seipler, Schlenkert and Milliman were afforded the use of benefit time in this manner? I looked up the rules for FMLA and I did not see anywhere that you can utilize the benefit if you rape children and are indicted because of it. This should be a huge campaign issue. Harrison and Prim should make sure that when the opportunity presents itself, they attack the HELL out of Zinke. The Northwest Herald Editorial Board should be a perfect opportunity. I hope they have the guts. Remember, Andy thinks that what Pyle did was all a "DOMESTIC ISSUE". Perhaps in the Zinke home such things are considered DOMESTIC ISSUES but not in the ABZ world.

FYI, I heard Seipler say he was running, if Zinke wins the Primary. He'll run as a Independent. I love the BALLS on that guy, I bet Pyle did too. LOL!!!

Cheerio!
