Beth Bentley - gone 146 weeks

Beth Bentley has not been forgotten. During this past week several people contacted me about this missing Woodstock woman.

Beth vanished on May 23, 2010, during a week-end getaway trip with her co-worker and good friend, Jennifer Wyatt.

It appears that the police may not have fully investigated her disappearance or considered it other than a missing-person case. Other law enforcement agencies were contacted, including Mount Vernon and Centralia PDs, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois State Police (Zone 7 Investigations). What did they learn?

If a private investigator began looking into Beth's disappearance, what would he find? Whom would he interview? What records and documents would he seek?

Would it be too late to go to Mount Vernon and inspect the house where Beth Bentley may have stayed? Would it be too late to inspect the rental house at 749 Tara Drive, Woodstock and carefully examine the garage, all the rooms and the basement?

Would it be too late to subpoena records from Facebook about Beth's account and learn who went into her account after May 23, 2010, and deleted many photos, postings and comments?

What about medical records? Could a private investigator contact her medical providers and obtain records of her health and details of any visits to doctors or lab reports in the year prior to her disappearance? Was Beth pregnant when she disappeared? Were blood samples preserved? What would DNA tests show?

What about credit card and bank records? What could be learned from them? What about spending habits, compared with income?

There are so many unasked questions...
