Concealed carry on mass transit?

Leaders of mass transit in Chicago want to prohibit concealed carry on the 'L', CTA, and Metra. Probably in cabs, too. That would include train platforms and Ogilvie Transportation Center.

At the February 22nd public hearing of the Illinois House Judiciary Committee, their leaders whined about the risk, should someone step on the toes of a citizen carrying a concealed weapon.

I hope those same people will reader the headlines tonight on ChicagoTribune.com:
  • Man beaten to death on Green Line platform

  • 1 charged in 'L' beatings; attackers shouted gang name. Cameron D. Griggs, 19, was arrested after allegedly "...punching and kicking a 57-year-old man after an unknown person struck the man in the face with a handgun."

  • Man punches CTA bus driver in Chatham

Call the mass transit offices tomorrow and demand that mass transit not become gun-free zones for law-abiding citizens!

RTA: John S. Gates, Jr., Chairman of the Board, 312-913-3200

Metra: Brad O'Halloran, Chairman. (312) 542-8381

Pace Bus, Richard A. Kwasneski, Chairman, (847) 364-PACE (7223)

The game plan here is obvious. They will approve ccw because they have to. But they will not allow you to ccw at schools, shopping malls, on mass transit, in churchs,in movie theatres, in restaurants or in government buildings. Now if only we could get the message to the bad guys and they obey it.
Feel free however to drive around in your car while carrying.

Unenforceable! What are they going to do, frisk everyone that enters a cab, a bus or train. Theses guys are nothing but gutless idiots!
