Did deputy sergeant write blog?

A comment was posted on www.mchenrycountyblog.com/ below today's article about the Better Government Association's December 29, 2010, extensive FOIA request to to the McHenry County Sheriff's Department (MCSD) that purports to identify the author of a blog that, from time to time, spoke ill of me.

That comment?

EXTRA EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!
Sergeant Greg Pyle has admitted to being the infamous author of the website known as “The Diametrical Woodstock Advocate”.
He has been heard in the office telling his buddies that he wrote the blog. After hearing this I checked out his website and I found a link to a VEILED threat. From what I over heard some one wishes he could take Seipler “to the tool shed”. Seeing as Pyle has gained about 50 lbs of fat and I have seen Seipler bench well over 300lbs. I put my money on Seipler completely destroying Pyle in about 17 secs. Plus Seipler has a reputation of taking care of business. I can’t wait till that guy comes back.

Unfortunately, "Shadow Deputy" doesn't identify himself. When that blog first surfaced, I printed and saved numerous pages of it, as I expected the blog would disappear.

And over a year ago this comment appeared, after Cal Skinner mentioned that blog in an article on McHenry County Blog:

At any rate, I don't know Greg Pyle.

IS NYGREN GOING TO INITIATE AN INVESTIGATION? PYLE VIOLATED A MULTITUDE OF GENERAL ORDERS. HE SLANDERED/LIBLED/AND CHARACTER ASSASSINATED A NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS, HE ALSO POSTED VILE, RACIST LANGUAGE AND PICTURES THAT THE LATINO COMMUNITY WOULD FIND QUITE OFFENSIVE. GOOD THING PEOPLE MADE COPIES OF IT. THIS IS POTENIALLY ANOTHER LAWSUIT/SUITS AGAINST PYLE AND MCSD. NYGRENS UNDOING ARE THE SAME PEOPLE THAT ARE POORLY TRAINED, INCOMPETENT, AND UNENLIGHTENED TO TODAYS POLITICAL CLIMATE. NEW LEADERSHIP IS NEEDED WITHIN THE DEPT AND THE COUNTY BOARD. THE SAME BOARD THAT CONTINUES TO APPROVE MORE OF YOUR MONEY AND NYGREN CONTINUES TO CONDONE THIS UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOUR BY HIS DEPUTIES.

Rose, I don't know about this. Pyle may have done this, Pyle may have done that. Before I ask just WHAT general orders, etc. were violated, I'd like to ask what proof there is of ANYTHING. We have an anonymous poster claiming that an anonymous blogger is Pyle. We see (on Cal's blog) a couple of other anonymous agitators/commenters egging the Shadow Deputy on.

Here's a new one for you to run with. I think Gus Philpott and Rose are the ones who created the Diabolically or Diametrically Opposed to Whatever Blog.

There. Now you see it in print so it MUST be true. This is getting crazy. Is there any logic left in this world?

Read your own post. You've slandered or libeled and characterized Nygren's conduct and management of his department on the basis of an anonymous post.

As I said, silly and crazy.

I never stop marveling at the pretentious wild accusations made by the few supporters of Zane. Casting aspersions is easy. Just like sniping from an overpass at innocent people. If you feel so strongly about this, then take your allegations and evidence to someone that has decision making authority. Writing libelous statements is wrong on many levels.

It’s clear to me that there are any number of 'persons" at the MCSO that have slithered down into that snake pit of nasty messages. I suppose ALL CAPS ROSE thinks its ok for the anti-Nygren / anti-administration crowd to receive unfettered cheap shots without someone firing back a salvo or two. Maybe Rose thinks libeling deputies is ok, but when someone takes aim against the tarnished star of Zane its heresy.

The anti crowd never appears to be able to make lucid, succinct, intelligent statements as illustrated by Ms. ALL CAPS. Please learn to understand the function of a point counterpoint without resorting to smear tactics. Rose is this U-boat Captain hoping to deflect attention away from the mean spirited remarks of Zane and Bachmann by trying to sink someone’s reputation by innuendo.

I enjoy a carefully and well articulated argument, however these hate filled posts simply amplify the inadequacies of the writer much like the Aesop's Fable of the fox and the grapes. The anti’s see those that have achieved promotions of assignments of greater responsibility and now feel they must discredit them to feed their own egos.

Here’s a flash Rose. First I seriously doubt Nygren or for that matter, anyone one in decision making authority reads this blog. Secondly, if they did, the rants you put forward would not convince anyone with three active brain cells to believe you.

Steve, look no further than the federal court deposition of Sgt. Pyle in the Seipler case where he admits making the blog. Copies of these depositions will soon be posted on websites once the federal judge uneals them. Nothing like a confession, ah.

Justin, thanks for your thoughtful and well-worded comment. Did you ever read "The Diametrical Woodstock Advocate"?

I heard about it early on and occasionally read the articles. I would have mentioned it on my blog, except for the liberal use of profanity in the articles posted on it. Also, early on I heard the rumors as to who was writing it.

It was clear to me that someone "on the inside" was writing it. And it must have been even clearer to the MCSD Administration. The fact that it continued to be published caused me to believe that it was being tolerated.

Did you hear about it in time to read many of the articles before they were removed?

Few supporters of Zane? You mean like the arbitrator who sided with Zane that he should not be fired? Maybe you speak of the judge that also ruled against the wishes of Nygren?

Seems like there are a lot more than just "a few" Zane supporters.

Thanks for the complement Zane, ah.. er.. ah I mean Gene. You need to mix up your writing a little better. If you believe I’m Greg Pyle, then believe as you wish. Greg Pyle may however disagree with your incorrect assumption. I strongly suggest you guess again. I’m also sorry you feel inferior, but I can understand how you would.

They should get Sgt. Dan Patenaud to investigate Pyle for his Sir Pumpkin blog just like he is "investigating" the 51 deputies now. So bogus! Patenaud should be getting investigate for "racial profiling" and/or covering it up not investigating whether it's occurring. He knows it's occuring, he allowed it to happen. Him and Cundiff, Patenaud's daddy. Couple of years ago, after Zane complained, other deputies complained about "racial profiling" and Patenaud turned it around and investigated the person that complained. The place is a joke. Every supervisor in the patrol division should be investigated before anyone else. That includes RACIAL PROFILER extrordinaire BRUKETTA.

"Hey guys, let's all go over to Pyle's house, drink in the garage, play cards and write a COOL blog because we are so funny. After that we can go chase down some Mexcans to get our arrest numbers up and we'll be rewarded with the K9 unit and SWAT team. Then we can all grow cool mustaches and nod to each other as we walk down the hall." DORKS.
