On January 1st yet another blog joined the call for an investigation into revelations slamming the public about Sheriff Keith Nygren. You can read these at www.theblog1.com/2011/01/serious-accusations-against-sheriff.html
That blog is the "What's Happening in Island Lake" blog, and the author was elected a Village Trustee in the last election. She continues to write her personal opinions about local and county issues.
I agree with her that the McHenry County State's Attorney's office should stand back, out of the way, and let the request for a Special Prosecutor proceed without its interference or comment. My personal opinion is that there is no way that the State's Attorney's Office could or should investigate or prosecute the acts allegedly performed by Keith Nygren.
They'll probably end up defending him or watching the dollars flow out of the County to a favored attorney of Nygren, James Sotos in Itasca. Taxpayers ought to be keenly interested in just how many McHenry County tax dollars have been paid to Sotos over the past five years for matters involving the Sheriff's Department.
