Robert S. Jackson Cites Unique Experience in MCC Trustee Bid

After a distinguished career in academia, Jackson reinvented himself as an investment advisor in 1981 and since 1991 has been the owner of Oaktree Capital Corporation, a Registered Investment Advisor with offices in Chicago and Woodstock . The company offers portfolio management for individuals, families, corporations and trusts with special services to non-profits.
He is the author of John Donne’s Christian Vocation and of North American Gold Stocks: New Investment Opportunities and Strategies in U.S. and Canadian Gold Mining Stocks still considered the most authoritative text on the subject.
Raised in Beloit , Wisconsin and a Navy Veteran of World War II, Jackson earned his undergraduate degree from Beloit College and after study at Oxford University earned a Harvard University Divinity degree. He continued his studies at the University of Michigan where he earned his Ph.D.
He also helped found and served on the boards of the Covenantal Community of University Church, an intentional living community in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood; Bridges, a Midwest social investment forum; the Global Abundance Alliance committed to causing “a new promise for the world;” and Nippersink Nickel and Dimers a socially responsible investment club. He is a member of Chicago ’s RotaryOne Club, The Mid-America Club, and of the Financial Planning Association, a professional organization for investment advisors. He is an ordained Episcopal Priest and a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Woodstock (UUCW) and currently serves on its governing Church Council.
