Thirty-four weeks Beth Bentley has been missing. Bentley, 41, went missing from Mount Vernon, Ill. last May, while a woman friend and traveling companion were in Mount Vernon.
The reasons for the trip have been hashed over extensively on this blog and on two Facebook pages. Low rewards by two local Crime Stoppers groups and a third, unidentified entity have apparently resulted in few leads.
A recent rumor was that the Illinois State Police will be assuming lead investigatory responsibility, shifting it away from the Woodstock Police Department, which is more than 300 miles away from the location of her probable disappearance.
Anyone with any information that could possibly contribute to finding Beth should contact Crime Stoppers at 800/762-STOP or the Woodstock Police Department at 815/338-2131.
