Oust Lisa Madigan!!!

NBC-TV5 (Chicago) is reporting that Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is (here it is in my words) attempting to thwart the effort of the General Assembly to comply with the order of the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. She has filed an appeal of the December 11th ruling that Illinois must enact a law on concealed carry within 180 days.

Madigan.... Madigan ... where have we heard that name before???  Lisa Madigan. Oh, right; Michael Madigan ... Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives... Daddy...

So, Daddy Mike pushed through HB0183 last week. So did his Democratic buddy, John Cullerton, in the Illinois Senate.

And in rides Attorney General (who else????) Madigan!!! to the rescue.

Was this all orchestrated from the beginning?

Why didn't Gov. Pat Quinn just sign HB0183 into law last Friday night? Because he doesn't want concealed carry in Illinois!

Well, he ought to sign it, just to spite Lisa. She'll probably throw her bonnet in the ring and run for Governor. So there won't be any friendship lost there.

Call Gov. Pat Quinn right now (all of you.... you, you and .... you, too) and demand that he recognize the Court's order and the General Assembly's votes and the People of Illinois, who are sick and tired of being the laughing stock of the U.S. Tell him to sign HB0183 into law. Call 217.782.0244 now.

And then Lisa can head off to Europe on some trade deal and waste her own budget.

This bill is a sham starting right from the $150 dollar money grabbing application fee. Illinois is know for it's exhorbetant fee's that all come with excusses on why they are so 'reasonable'. Below is an example of two other state fee's. I wonder if the clerks work cheaper then the ones in Illinnois. Maybe the operation is more streamlined in those states and the officials recognize they are there to serve the people. If you go to the websites you will see that if you get a permit from both states you are covered in most other jurisdictions. The new IL law has no reciprocity with other states and I bet that legislation will be long in coming [if ever]. People say this CC law is better than nothing. Oh really? The governor needs to scratch out some of the restrictions and rewrite them to more conform to reality. In my opinion brush up on IL law and consult your insurance company before you pull your newly acquired 9mm and blast someone.

Utah permit fee's: $46.00 for in state applicants and $51.00 for out of state applicants.

Arizona permit fee's: Flat $60 dollars.
