Jennifer Wyatt-Paplham, traveling companion of Woodstock's missing woman, Beth Bentley, had yet another court date yesterday in Judge Condon's court. Court records, and the Circuit Clerk's office, indicate that she has not yet filed a plea in this case.
Wyatt was charged with two felonies by Woodstock Police on March 20. She was advised of her rights and posted bail. On April 25 she had a court date, and her case was continued.
On May 2 she had a court date, and her case was continued.
Her next court date is May 16, 9:00AM, in Courtroom 302, and it is scheduled as a preliminary hearing.
Will Judge Condon tell her attorney to enter a plea? Or will Judge Condon just enter a Not Guilty plea and tell her attorney to move the case along?
Will this case be a three-year ordeal? The McHenry County State's Attorney's office is prosecuting this case for the Woodstock Police. How about a June trial date (you know, the "speedy trial" routine) and get done with it?
I'm curious to see how the Woodstock Police will prove that Jenn Wyatt talked to Beth Bentley on May 25, 2010. Supposedly, Beth Bentley hasn't been heard from or seen since Jenn says she dropped Beth off in Centralia, Ill. near the Amtrak Station on Sunday, May 23, 2010, before 6:00PM.
Are the police expecting Beth to walk into the courtroom at a trial and announce, "I talked to Jenn on May 25, 2010." Absent that, how will the P.D. prove that Jenn talked to Beth?
The State's Attorney's office approved filing of felony charges. Will they push for a plea on May 16?
