Custom prisoner van

Coming soon to your nearest McHenry County Sheriff's Department parking space? Let's hope not!

If someone tells you there is a budget crisis in Illinois, don't you believe it!

Law enforcement officials have the money (your money) to party at Eagle Ridge Country Club in Galena, Ill. Where do they get the money? Right out of your pockets. From property tax dollars and from court costs and fees collected in courthouses all over the state.

Will Sheriff Nygren be getting rid of those ratty, old, white school buses parked out in front of 2200 N. Seminary Ave. in Woodstock? Was he at the conference in Galena? Or did he send some command staff for an expensive week-end? It probably didn't cost $800,000 like the government employees' party in Las Vegas, but just what did it cost?

Does the transporter (pictured) belong to a police or sheriff's department in this state, or was a vendor for the van manufacturer there to solicit orders? What enticements were served up? Out of sight, don'tcha know?

Who was there from McHenry County? Was the week-end for sheriffs? For police chiefs? Come one, come all?

Were deputies accompanied by wives? By their own wives, I mean? You mean that goes on? Still?
