This morning's Northwest Herald carried a story on Page 2B about a storage shed that burned early Thursday morning in Wonder Lake. The shed, on the west side of Thompson Road and north of Wondermere Road, across the street from the former Village Hall of Wonder Lake, was reported burning about 2:00AM Thursday.
Smoke could be seen about 5:00PM today, and a Wonder Lake police officer informed the local fire department that they might want to re-check the scene of the fire.
A careful investigation into cause of the fire should be made. A determination of exactly when any fire at that location was first reported should be made.
Was a fire (or smoke or possible fire) called in to the Sheriff's Department prior to the 911 call about 2:00AM? Was there an earlier call, say, on Wednesday evening and, if so, was a deputy dispatched to investigate? If that happened, what did the deputy find there on Thompson Road, when he responded to the call?
According to the Northwest Herald article, fire departments from Wonder Lake, Woodstock, Hebron, Spring Grove, Richmond and McHenry Township responded.
