Judge says, "Arm yourselves"

Feeling unsafe? Carry a gun. That's the advice of Ashtabula County (Ohio) Judge Alfred Mackey, of the County's Common Pleas Court. In response to citizens' safety concerns he reportedly urged residents to be vigilant and to arm themselves.

The Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department has apparently reduced its number of deputies from 112 to 49, even though the County is Ohio's largest by land area.

Of course, arming yourself in Illinois makes you a criminal. If you have a FOID card and leave your home armed, you'd better be asking yourself two questions: 1. do you have enough money for the best defense attorney you'll need? and 2) how will you feel about the felony charges you'll be socked with, whether you win or lose?

Illinois legislators keep law-abiding citizens defenseless and at the mercy of the criminal element in our state by refusing to allow law-abiding citizens the right to carry concealed weapons (or any weapons).

Chicago politicians keep a lock on the state, but they aren't alone. McHenry County's own Jack Franks (D-63rd District) still sides with the Cook County delegation.

You yourself don't have to "carry", if you don't want to, but give yourself added protection by allowing responsible, law-abiding, trained, educated, qualified and accurate gunowners the right to carry. They/we will not only protect ourselves; we'll protect you, if the need arises.
