Dorr Township ballot

On Tuesday night (April 13) a very important Annual Town Meeting for Dorr Township will be held at the Woodstock High School at 7:00PM.

The Citizens Planning Committee will present the report it compiled last year and submitted to the Trustees in September 2009. Come and learn what the Committee told the Trustees.

One of the recommendations of the Committee was to refund at least $1,000,000 to the taxpayers of Dorr Township. The Township has built up a $2,700,000 slush fund for facilities improvement. Twice the electors have voted down a new building.

Township government continues to shrink, as cities and villages extend their corporate limits.

A printed ballot is under design and possible last-minute revision, so that you, the voters, can vote your conscience in secret. While you might feel some pressure from friends, neighbors or work colleagues to vote a certain way or fear some consequences if you vote the "wrong" way, with a secret ballot you just don't have to worry about it.

So don't let the fear of having to 'stand up and be counted' keep you at home. Wouldn't it be great if 500-1,000 people showed up Tuesday night? Standing Room Only? Call your neighbors now and ask them to meet you at the high school by 7:00PM.
