After reading the Wanted poster for Jeremiah Pedersen, I decided to see who else was on the Top 10 Wanted list. Let's see - - how to find it.
Let's try the website for the sheriff at www.mchenrysheriff.org
Oh, no! The website has been re-designed. Hmmm, something to do with the upcoming election? Maybe the resignation/retirement of the sheriff?
Take a look. The first picture you see is Undersheriff Andy Zinke (who, as a Republican precinct committeeman, didn't bother to show up at yesterday's Special Meeting). Why is his photo even there? And why in such a prominent position? Is there a political motive behind this? Using taxpayer dollars to put the undersheriff's picture in front of the public? Even now, 30 months before the next regular election?
To the right of Zinke (as you face the website) is the current sheriff.
Now, why did they re-design the website? Why did the sheriff blow money on this, when he could have fed the prisoners a little better gruel? Isn't the sheriff worried about loss of Federal money because ICE is not happy with operations related to detainees, who are treated more like prisoners that the detainee treatment they are supposed to receive?
Why is a Crime Stoppers bulletin printed on MCSD stationery (with the infamous seven-point "star") and over the unsigned but typewritten name of "Sheriff Keith Nygren". Crime Stoppers is an independent Illinois not-for-profit corporation with no legal affiliation with the McHenry County Sheriff's Department. Is this an official mis-use of government stationery and website?
Information about the Merit Commission has been reduced. Profiles of three members of the Merit Commission were removed, and Janelle Crowley's title as Chairman was removed. No political party affiliation for William Mack is provided now, although previously he was lised as affiliated with the Republican Party.
