Network of Care

There is a fantastic new service available to McHenry County residents (and others), thanks to our county's Mental Health Board and funding through a grant received by the Family CARE Project of the Board. As Mental Health Awareness Month (May) approaches, the McHenry County Network of Care has been announced, and it can be viewed at www.mchenrycountynetworkofcare.org

On this morning's Northwest Spectrum, hosted by Stew Cohen on Star 105.5 at 6:00AM (that's every Sunday), Stew interviewed Sen. Pam Althoff. She and Stew mentioned that one of every five families is affected in some way by mental illness, and one of 17 individuals is affected.

Sen. Althoff described efforts to re-educate legislators to the importance of continued, and even increased, funding of mental health initiatives and that this funding actually results in benefits to the State of Illinois (that's us!), not just expense.

Save May 2 (evening) for a night at the Woodstock Opera House. More information to follow on that.
