Flooded Sidewalk

This sidewalk floods regularly in heavy rains and snowmelt. The depth of water forces pedestrians into busy Lake Avenue. Where is it?

This sidewalk is on the north side of Lake Avenue between Woodstock Lumber and Wal-Mart. Just beyond the trees it appears the ground is being graded for development. Hey, it's just a minor problem, compared to the worries of Crystal Lake over the watershed affecting Crystal Lake, if MCC gets a green light on the sports complex and ball stadium.

But this sidewalk is important to pedestrians and bicyclists. And both use this sidewalk.

Will the City take action to either raise the sidewalk or re-direct the flooding? Is it even the City's responsibility? Responses to today's emails to Public Works and Community Development will be posted (if there are any responses).

wow, is it really safe to drive and snap photos at the same time? That has to be almost as dangerous as holding a cell phone while driving at the same time!

Check that vehicle code you are so fond of. Bicycles do not belong on the sidewalk. As you probably already know but do not want to point out, this sidewalk has flooded since it was put in long before the grading you will be complaining about soon.

Is that a legal parking spot? Do as I say not as I do. Shocking disregard of law.

"I obey all traffic laws..." Except those you scoff at, are unaware of, or are mistaken about.

so its unsafe for a truck driver to be on a cell phone while driving but you can take a picture while driving that takes up more concentration and time to set up. i have never seen any pedestrians use this sidewalk, maybe one every so often. i can see a patch of grass they can walk on to thats not in the road. why don't you look for the city code that doesn't allow bicycles on the sidewalks.
another post from an "advocate" that has got half assed info.

Frank is a stupid, stuipd dumb ass, who violates his own rules and morales, like driving & taking photographs. That has to be one of the most ignorant things I have seen or heard about. That's like putting a drunk behind the wheel & telling him/her to talk on their cell phone, while picking their nose. Also, FRANK if your soooo big one using your free speech why do you stop others from using it. I see that your doing this "This post has been removed by a blog administrator." more and more. What are you afraid of? Don't worry about being shown up, made fun of, and/or hated. Because I think most of us already feel that way about you already.

I am a huge fan of all law enforcement but that cop who sat in your driveway when you were 6 years old is probably rolling over in his grave with disgust, since he was a huge influence in you current idiotic behavior.
