"Pilgrimage" this Fri.-Sun.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday walkers will head from Chicago to Woodstock to show support for detainees being held in the immigration facility at the McHenry County Jail.

The following explanation was provided to The Woodstock Advocate today:

"Walk with us from Chicago to the Immigration Detention Center in Woodstock IL, where we will pledge our solidarity with our brothers and sisters who are awaiting the separation from their families. The 3-day pilgrimage will call for an end to deportations of law-abiding immigrants and the inhumane separation of families. Join us as we walk and pray for comprehensive immigration reform so that we can bring hope back to our families, communities, and nation."

Sleeping space and meals will be available along the 48-mile route.

More information will be provided as received.

Hopefully, ICE will be out in force along the route. WTF? They don't DEPORT legal immigrants, only ILLEGAL alien. How the hell does an illegal alien become a law-abiding immigrant? By getting the hell out of the country and re-entering lawfully. Can't wait? Too bad. Tell it to your "brothers and sisters in solidarity" who entered the country lawfully and became legal residents. I'm sure they will tell you where to go.
