The desert is dangerous; the coyotes are dangerous (and I don't mean just the four-legged ones); and the Border Patrol? Overwhelmed?
The Associated Press reports that "New U.S. Border Patrol statistics show arrests on the Arizona border were up 6 percent - by about 10,000 - from October to April, even as apprehension of illegals dropped 9 percent overall."
Read that carefully. It does not say that arrests were up by about 10,000. It says arrests were up 6%, and that 6% is about 10,000. Where is a 6th Grader to do the math? How many is that?
This means that the Border Patrol arrested approximately 166,667 illegal aliens from October to April on the Arizona border, even though, as the article reads, "apprehension of illegals dropped 9 percent overall."
What percent do you suppose the Border Patrol catches? 10%? 5?
And this is just the Arizona border, and only part of that? What about the borders of California, New Mexico and Texas with Mexico? When is the last time you got out your atlas and looked at our southern border with Mexico. Just look at the length of the Texas-Mexico border!
