This truck was parked in the parking lot of the new Colonial Cafe in Crystal Lake this morning. I was reminded of the bumper sticker that read, "If you can read this, you are too close."
This driver, however, announces his warning in large, bold lettering. Tailgaters be warned. What else might that driver have in mind for you?

And/or agressive driving.
The previous (missing) post said 'I hope he gets a ticket for obstructed view'.
There seems to have been an increase in aggressive driving and/or tailgating around here. it happens even if you are doing the speed limit or even a little above. it is ridiculous. remember the 3 second rule people! if something happens (deer or child jumps in front of you for example) and an aggressive driver rear ends you they will be at fault. also nothing like an aggressive driver tailgating you, passing you just to end up sitting next to you at the next traffic light. is it really worth it??? really?
ask330, thanks for your comment. Seems like nowadays, you not only have to drive your own car, but you must "drive" the one behind.
Slowing down when being tailgated is a good idea, especially as you approach a "stale" green light. When it changes to yellow, hopefully you'll be able to stop without getting rear-ended. But watch out - the idiot behind may swerve out and pass you as you are stopping.
If you really get annoyed with a dangerous driver behind you, do what I do. Get his license plate and a good look at his face; then call the police and have a ticket issued. You may have to go to court, but it'll be worth it.
Email or call me if you want more information about how to nail a driver like that - legally.
Stale green light? step into the twenty-first century why don't you!
OK, tired, what do YOU call a traffic light that has been green for a long time and could change as you approach on Route 120 in Bull Valley at 55MPH?
Are you going to slow a little, in case it changes to yellow, or will you just blast on through and hope Bull Valley PD doesn't catch you entering the intersection as the light changes from yellow to red?
I call it traffic weighted and I'll take my chances. Remember-green light go, yellow light slow down prepare to stop. Red light stop. Not green light slow, yellow slower, red stop. This whole slowing for tailgaters is stupid. Why not a sticker that says "If I slow you will tailgate" same difference. If you purposely slow to make a tailgater angry that would be agressive driving in my book.
tired, I agree with you that intentional or sudden or extreme slowing to antagonize a tailgater is a traffic violation. Think a judge might be more likely to convict of impeding traffic than aggressive driving?
My comment about slowing "a little" when approaching a green that might change during my immediate approach to the intersesction was meant to allow safe stopping room and the increased safety to avoid getting rear-ended.
Thanks again for reading and commenting.
