Annual Leukemia Society Fundraiser

This appeal is personal, and I hope you'll take a moment to read it and to response with whatever size donation you are inclined to make. Please do it now, while you are thinking of it. Donations of every amount are appreciated.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual "Light the Night" Walk will be this Saturday, October 17th. This one's personal, because my late brother-in-law, Steve Meussling, was diagnosed in April 2007 with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), and Steve died in October 2007.

Steve's wife was Bette Tambone, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Tambone of Woodstock. Dr. Tambone was a doctor in Woodstock for 50 years, and his office was at the corner of Dean and South Streets, next to the house that became the Alexandria House B&B. Their daughter, Greta, has organized Papa's Posse as one of the family teams involved in the Walk, and their team has raised $3,500 since Steve's passing two years ago.

To help sponsor Papa’s Posse and to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), please visit the team site at: http://pages.lightthenight.org/mi/Kalamazo09/PapasPosse

On the LLS secure website you can donate under any registered walker or directly to the team. All gifts go directly to the Society and are tax-deductible. If you miss the date of the Walk, the team can continue to accept donations through the end of 2009.

Thank you for your consideration of a donation.
