And still Sheriff Nygren is failing to call a Special Meeting of the McHenry County Sheriff's Department Merit Commission over the arrest of Sgt.Greg Pyle. Is it really true that the Sheriff's Department has never officially recognized Pyle's arrest within the Department by communicating it to all employees in writing?
The next Regular Meeting of the Merit Commission is Wednesday, February 8, at 10:30AM, on the second floor at 667 Ware Road. Why not announce a Special Meeting at 9AM tomorrow and hold it on Saturday, January 28, at 10:00AM?
Every day he waits costs the County over $300. How long is he going to pay Pyle before putting him on unpaid administrative leave???
Can you think of any reasons for Nygren to delay?

innocent until proven guilty applies to the police too
Pyle might want to check with John "Jack" Reed on that one, since Reed was just sentenced to 55 years in prison.
How about this? Schedule Pyle's trial for Feb. 14 and sentencing on Feb. 21, if he is found guilty. Then off to prison on Feb. 22.
Now, that would be justice.
Why even bother with a trial, Gus. Why not let you take out your penis extension from that "container" you claim to carry everywhere and just execute him on the spot.
Frankly, if AFTER a trial he's found guilty, my personal feeling would be that summary execution would be too good for him.
Until we dump the constitution and our laws in order to make you king, we're kinda stuck with that innocent until proven guilty thing. I realize that you only want to apply it selectively, but them's the breaks!
Steve, apparently you are distinguishing between criminal matters (McHenry County Circuit Court, and the rights and guarantees of an accused) and internal disciplinary matters (violation of General Orders) that are the purvey of the sheriff and the Merit Commission.
Perhaps the General Orders to which deputies and Corrections Officers are subject should be posted on the Sheriff's Dept. website, where the public could examine them and know to what higher standard these employees are held. Or not.
