Feinstein and Burris

California's Senator Diane Feinstein appears to be buddying up to Roland Burris.

What part of the Senate's rules does Feinstein not understand. It takes Jesse White's signature to certificate Blago's appointment of Burris to the open Senate seat. It's not "Obama's" seat. It's the second seat for the State of Illinois!

And Burris' appointment is "ordained by God," he says?

Was he on the hot line recently?

Is Burris the very best that Illinois can offer?

Oh, Lawdy, Lawdy. The man is a legend in his own mind.

I'll take a guess that she understands the part that the Senate rule recommends but does not require that the appointment be certified by the Secretary of State. Jesse White's signature is not required to "certificate" (as you put it), Blago's appointment.

Joe, thanks. Sure would be nice to see the exact wording in the Senate requirement. If Jesse White's signature is just a courtesy, then he needs to get off his high horse and sign the darned thing.
Frankly, Illinois could do a lot better than Roland Burris, but that's just my opinion.
