2009 Woodstock Police Beats

It's that time of year. In January officers of the Woodstock Police Department start their new beats (or continue on the old ones). There is some type of bidding process, maybe seniority, and the moves take place in January.

Woodstock is divided into four beats, although some consider the Square as the fifth beat. Anyway, it's not on the list.

So, make note of who your beat officers are, and plan to get acquainted with them. Hopefully, your first meeting with them won't be when you are in front of those familiar red and blue flashing lights.

If you want to email a certain officer, address your email to the officer by the initial of his first name, followed by his last name and @woodstockil.gov

If you want to send your e-mail to all three officers on your beat, send it to pbo@woodstockil.gov; ex., pbo21@woodstockil.gov for Beat 21 officers.
"pbo" stands for Permanent Beat Officer.

Here's the new line-up:
----------8AM-4PM -------4:00PM-12:00AM-----Midnight-8AM
Beat 21---Shane Marshall----Andrew Reitz-------Jeremy Mortimer
Beat 22---Michael Gustis----Matthew Harmon-----William Lintner
Beat 23---George Kopulos---Charles Vorderer------Dan Henry
Beat 24---Joshua Rapacz----David Dempsey--------Brett Muehlfelt

Past issues of City Scene have carried the map of the beats, but it didn't make the Winter/Spring 2009 issue. Perhaps it will be published in the next issue. To obtain a copy of the map, contact the Woodstock Police Department at (815) 338-2131.

The rough boundaries of the beats are, from
Beat 21: northeast Woodstock
Beat 22: northwest Woodstock
Beat 23: southwest Woodstock
Beat 24: southeast Woodstock
