Should Illinois residents have the right to carry a concealed weapon?
Read this June 9th (just last Saturday) article in Peoria's Journal Star at www.pjstar.com/free/x2067831458/Concealed-carry-advocates-continue-efforts-in-legislature-courts
and then vote in the poll associated with the article.
This year's House Bill lingers in Springfield while the legislature fools around with a Task Force, trying to decide what impact concealed carry will have on public safety. Here's an idea: why don't they just go into the War Zone in Chicago and ask some of the families whose sons, daughters and husbands have been killed or shot recently.
The legislators who are blocking the concealed carry bill live in Cook County. Most of them live in Chicago. What is wrong with them?

The MCSD PIO called me back at noon time (Thank you, Deputy Knop) and told me she had not been asked to create a media release about that crash.
This, of course, opens up a whole, new can of worms about MCSD and is worthy of a fresh article.
The Northwest Herald can't print it if it doesn't know about it.
But, suppose it knows about it.
Isn't the job of a reporter and a newspaper to dig out the news and publish it?
Yeah, it makes no sense that Illinois can't do what other states are doing so successfully. The responsible people can't get CCW permits, but the criminals have the guns. How is that right?
