Thanks to a reader, we can all know about a CNN.com story about attempts at censorship.
From the CNN.com story, "In one incident cited in the report, a U.S. law enforcement agency asked
Google to take down a blog that 'allegedly defamed a law enforcement
official in a personal capacity.' The company did not comply with that
request."

Definition of "defame"? From www.m-w.com, "to harm the reputation of by libel or slander"
So, if the nasty stuff is true, then it's not defamation.
