The CFI - Continuous Flow Intersection - is a really stupid idea.

Is McHenry County DOT and/or IDOT about to waste millions on this stupid idea? It's an even worse idea than the round-abouts planned on U.S. 20 east of Marengo.
How do get it stopped? Call IDOT and McDOT on Monday!

From a reader: "there is another one (round-about) in the works for the reworked intersection of Rt 176 and the realigned Mt Tabor Rd. and Haligus. Check the NWH archive on this one.
"Can you imagine the backup on 176 for this one? Why not just a traffic light that favors 176?

How much private land is taken under eminent domain by IDOT for a round-about, compared to land needed for the highway. The right-of-way for a two-lane roadway is somewhere about 22 feet on both sides from the centerline.
Is IDOT (and maybe McHDOT, too) out of control with your tax dollars? Should millions be spent because a few drivers are stupid and careless?
