Tim Smith bond reduction sought

McHenry County Jail inmate Timothy S. Smith will be in court on Tuesday, November 1st, at 1:30PM, for a bond-reduction hearing. Smith is being held in the Jail on a first-degree murder (and other) charge in the death of Kurt Milliman in late May.

The bond reduction motion will be heard in Courtroom 302, not in the Rights Court in the jail. Smith is being held on $900,000 bond.

The Case Number is 11CF000520, in case you are following this in court records. The next scheduled court date after Tuesday is November 17, 9:00AM. Arrive in time to learn whether that court date will be in the Rights Jail or Courtroom 302.

I know eveyone is supposed to be guilty 'til proven innocent... um, or is the the other way? But if this dude is most likely the purpetrator (sp), then why is there even an opp for a reduced bond? Duh.
Soon as he's out, vamanos ala cantina en San Salvador!!!

Why would the bond-reduction hearing be held in open court, when the other court dates have been held in the Jail Court?

Was this at the defendant's request? Does he think that Judge Condon will be more sympathetic to his request, if the hearing is held in open court?

Presumably, Smith's wife would attend a hearing in open court, although there is no reason that she could not attend the hearings in the Jail Court - although she hasn't.

Are the security concerns of the Jail and Sheriff less for some reason? Seems to me that the any elevated risk to Smith would be higher during a bond-reduction hearing than during a hearing when he asks for a phone call.
