21-year-old man arrested, charged in 3 cases

The Crystal Lake Police nabbed a suspect, Anthony M. Andrea, 21, of Lake in the Hills, in three cases, two of which were indecent exposure cases. The third victim had the presence of mind to get the license plate number of Andrea's car, which led to his arrest. Following is today's press release:

     On February 7^th, 2011 the Crystal Lake Police Department arrested Anthony M. Andrea for two counts of Public Indecency (Class A Misdemeanor), one count of Disorderly Conduct (Class C Misdemeanor), one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor), and one count of Possession of Cannabis (less than 2.5 grams, Class C Misdemeanor).  The Andrea subject was taken into custody without incident at approximately 6:40 pm, at McHenry County College where he is a student.

     The charges stem from three separate incidents with the first occurring on December 1^st, 2010 (10:30 am) at the intersection of

Golf Course Rd.

and

Barlina Rd.

  At that time, it is alleged that the Andrea subject, while in his personal vehicle (white in color, 1999 Saturn 4 door coupe), approached a 46 year old female who was walking her dog near the intersection.  He verbally engaged her and once he had gotten her attention made a lewd or suggestive remark that alarmed and disturbed the female subject.  She returned to her home and subsequently notified the police.  Upon arriving at the scene the offender had left the area and the investigation remained open.

     The second incident occurred on January 25^th, 2011(3:40 pm) at Canterbury Dr. and

Farringdon Ln.

  At that time it is alleged that the Andrea subject, while in his personal vehicle, approached a 47 year old female who was walking near the intersection.  He verbally engaged the female subject, got her attention and she, subsequently, approached his vehicle.  When she was within a few feet of the offender’s vehicle she observed him to have his penis exposed and was masturbating.  She turned to walk away while retrieving her cell phone to call the police, at which time the offender fled the area. 

     The third incident occurred on February 7^th, 2011 (4:40 pm) in the parking lot of the Coventry Plaza (

35 Berkshire Dr

.).  At that time it is alleged that the Andrea subject, while in his personal vehicle, approached a 46 year old female who was about to enter a store.  He verbally engaged her and got her attention, at which time she observed the subject to be masturbating.  She turned away from the offender and immediately went into the store to notify the police.  The victim in this incident was able to obtain the license plate number of the offender’s vehicle which was crucial to clearing the case and arresting the Andrea subject.

     Anthony M. Andrea (M/W/DOB11-14-89), of 2830 Briarcliff Ln., Lake in the Hills, IL, was transported to the police station where he was processed, posted $150.00 cash bond and was released with a court date of March 1^st, 2011.
