Been crammed lately?

The Citizens Utility Board is alerting Illinois phone customers to inspect their telephone bills carefully and look for unauthorized charges. Not just for unauthorized calls, but recurring charges such as a $9.00 USBI service fee.

Also, look for services you didn't order.

While you're at it, look for services you don't want or need.

Phone companies and credit card companies push for us to sign up for electronic (only) billing. I think that's a good way to get people to stop examining their bills.

There is a helpful telephone bill analyzer on the CUB website

Use it to determine how much you could lower your monthly phone bill. Then you might consider donating some of the annual savings to CUB.
